The Cisco Networking Academy NetRiders Competition is a great opportunity for students to showcase their IT/Networking skills. The competition is organized by Cisco Systems as an opportunity for Networking Academy students to participate in a valuable learning experience by testing the students' Networking/IT skills through a series of online exams and simulation activities that cover the CCNA material.

On April 19th, the School of ICT hosted one of the national NetRiders Competitions. Seven of our top students participated and competed against students across South Africa.

Juan van der Merwe, a BTech Communication Networks student, finished 3rd in the National Competition. As a result, he will compete in the International Competition on July, 6th in Johannesburg. The top 5 students from the International Competition win an all-expenses paid trip to visit Cisco Systems Headquarters in San Jose, California.

Well done , Juan!
